YAAAAAAAAAAAAY GOD!

I just found this poem, I've entered it before, but in just reading it again, I realized how much it is ME. I wrote this almost 3 years ago, and at the time, had no idea how much it would still mean to me today. This is the passion I feel. Especially through music...This is the fire that consumes me, music is my fire...And the beautiful people in my life are my light...Being in their presence, knowing God brought them to me, just for me, makes me ecstatic. I am in love with the beauty of life, and all it's wonders and souls. Life is grrrrreat. People are beautiful and music is ectasy. I am so high...

Here's the poem. Even more ME today than when I wrote it...

Lying motionless in the grass,

I stare up at the darkening clouds.

A chill runs through the air, then up my spine.

The hairs on my arms stand on end.

The air fills with excitement.

A new smell rides the air. Scents of earth and God’s creations. Lying in the grass, my heart races with anticipation.

The storm is near.

The wind picks up in large gusts,

twirling the ends of my hair sending them aflight.

A single drop of rain lands on my nose.

More drops come falling, faster and faster each time.

I open my mouth to taste.

A smile spreads across my face.

I take in its moisture.

It pours now.

Thunder sings in it’s booming voice.

I cannot contain myself. I start to roll through the rain-soaked grass.

I continue, turning faster and faster,

keeping pace with the rain.

I lose myself in the storm. Thinking only of the joy it brings to me.

I feel the rain start to slow.

My heart sinks.

My joy has been pulled back into the clouds, absorbed into the wet soil beneath me.

I stare at the damp ground on which I rest. Behind me, the perfect imprint of my body still formed in the soil.

I’ll return again tomorrow.

I’ll see the clouds swell up with pride, and shower me with their gifts.

Tomorrow keeps me alive today.
